Pretty confident we’ve given you a hat-trick of great posts and songs now. After the skewed, unsettling brilliance of Lower Dens and the promise of newbies Rare Grooves comes the downright catchy, 60s inspired, garage-psych of The Fungi Girls (who you won’t be surprised to learn are an all boy trio from Texas).

We first became aware of them last year with promising debut album Seafaring Pyramids, but recent single Turquoise Hotel backed with equally brilliant Doldrums is a real gem.

We have the b-side for your unceasing enjoyment here and defy you not to get swept up and away in its shuffling groove and dynamic hook – three minutes of pure joyful escapism that tips its hat to Bo Diddley by way of the Jesus & Mary Chain.

After that check out a more minimal, but equally good, taste from forthcoming EP Owsley Knows / Glare 2.
