San Diego post-punkers New Mexico will self-release their new album Malpais on the 23rd April.
The album is the result of many things: a bad breakup with a girl, a new recording technique using Otari 16-track one-inch tape, and Robert Kent’s newfound fascination with Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World.
For now, grab yourself the excellent Alpha Male below (click through for a free download), which has echoes of a Joy Division-esque rumbling bassline over which a compelling synth harmony and a muscular garage rock riff battle it out for supremacy.
