Since first emerging in the early ‘90s as the front-man and songwriter of trio Grant Lee Buffalo,  founder Grant-Lee Phillips has been drawn to the conflicts at the heart of the American experience.

Walking in the Green Corn, his newest album has ten songs drawn from Phillips’ intensive investigations into his native lineage. To mark the event he has made an EP, Green Corn Songs Live From McCabes available for free via Noisetrade. The EP captures Phillips performing his latest works months in advance of the studio album release. Raw and unfettered, this EP was recorded live at McCabes in Santa Monica. The studio track, Thunderbird from Walking in the Green Corn is also included.
