The charmingly named New Jersey trio Vomitface have announced details of their debut album, Hooray For Me, which sees a release on the 26th August.

The album is chock full full of sharp, deceptively catchy songs, each delivered with a self deprecating smirk – you can check out the booming drums and buzzsaw guitars of the first single Senior Pictures below.

Vomitface, the Jersey City/Brooklyn punk trio have offered up their new music video for Never Make It.

The video captures the band playing to a yoga class, offering their own “meditative” expertise in the form of destructive, noisy sludge-pop.

The track comes from their just released sophomore EP, Another Bad Year, out via Boxing Clever Records.

Ah Vomitface, let us count the ways we love your name.

And your new EP Another Bad Year, too – from which we have Never Make It, another satisfyingly sludgey slab of seething punk rock that manages to blast your eardrums into submission without losing any accessibility whatsoever.

Have a listen.

Jersey City’s Vomitface have released their debut music video for the track Sloppy Joes, from their self-titled EP released this summer!

Shot in the backroom of Revival Vintage in Hoboken, NJ, the video is both an homage and incisive send-up of the traditional performance video—the band wanted to be “completely reverent and irreverent simultaneously.

Watch and see how they managed it…

We’ve posted about the sludgy, gritty stoner-punk of the charmingly monikered Vomitface a couple of times, and now they’ve further upped the ante by taking on Kate Bush’s Sat In Your Lap.

Have a listen.

1. First Aid Kit – Cedar Lane
2. Rose Windows – There Is A Light
3. The Antlers – Hotel
4. Hamilton Leithauser – In The Shallows
5. Vomitface – Sloppy Joes

MM Shorts 361: Vomitface

It is with a certain amount of glee that we post about Vomitface’s forthcoming 7″ single given that today is Mother’s Day here in the UK.

Be that as it may, the self-titled 7″ is grungey, punkish, and loud with elements of surf-rock and good old fashioned attitude.

Check out Bill Me Later, which is a cracking tune to blast a hangover into next week – happy Sunday morning folks. The single is out on the 1st April.
