MM Exclusive: Feldspar’s Young & Invincible Single

FeldsparWe’re pleased as punch to bring you an exclusive first listen of indie-folksters Feldspar’s excellent new single Young & Invincible.

Having funded the single through their own efforts via a successful Pledgemusic campaign, the single follows a couple of self-releases at the tail end of 2012, The Flat And Paper Sky (Volumes 1 and 2).

Young & Invincible is a record of contrasts. Exploring a theme of seizing the moment, there is euphoria and uncertainty in equal parts, as hushed, reflective verses give way to an increasingly urgent guitar strum and an uplifting, anthemic chorus.

Ultimately though, this is big, bold music – music with a presence and sense of style, drama and purpose. It is true that all too often this approach can feel a little tired, even clichéd, but we’re in good hands with these boys. Deftly they avoid the obvious mawkish pitfalls to create a sweeping, almost theatrical feel and a song that genuinely acts as an authentic and impassioned clarion call for action in the here and now.

Stream it below. Young & Invincible will be released digitally on the 24th February via Fierce Panda’s label Fandango.
