Part Two coming up later…

After nearly five years of playing together, hundreds of sweat-drenched, high-octane live shows and two excellent EP’s under their belts, Missouri punk brothers Radkey have announced the release of their hugely-anticipated debut album, Dark Black Makeup (out 21st August).

Check out the album’s title track below, a high-decibel wake up call for young people to take ownership of their own lives, a punch in the face for teen angst that is made all the more visceral coming from three musicians just barely out of their own teen years.

Easter weekend, and a bumper collection of ten songs for you to dip into that were released this week.

1. The National – Sunshine On My Back
2. Southern – Lone Driver
3. Cheatahs – Murasaki
4. Heartless Bastards – Gates Of Dawn
5. Woodpigeon – When You Look For Trouble, Trouble Comes
6. Radkey – Parade It
7. Allo Darlin’ – Half Heart Necklace
8. Virginia Wing – A Complex Outline
9. Speedy Ortiz – Puffer
10. Christopher Paul Stelling – Warm Enemy

Videos of the Day

Start the week with a clutch of excellent videos from psych-rockers Gringo Star (and their animated film for new track Find A Love), from Keaton Henson for You (taken from his excellent album Birthdays), and from explosive punk rockers Radkey, more top notch animation to accompany Romance Dawn.

We have even more brilliant animation, or to be precise claymation, for Gentleman Hall’s Every Morning, and lastly London four piece Telegram channel their love for Eno, Syd Barrett, krautrock and late proto-punk to good effect on their video for debut single Follow.

Videos of the Day

Videos to start the week from the acoustic Americana of the places in peril initiative of T. Hardy Morris to the weird party freaks of Fist City’s Boring Kids, and the visual gymnastics of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros film for Better Days. Lastly we have the speed and fury of Radkey perfectly captured in this performance of Cat & Mouse.
