Following on from their much acclaimed debut Empty Light, Richmond based band Avers are releasing their upcoming record Omega/Whatever via EggHunt Records on the 29th June.

They are a band that freely swap roles: songwriting, bass, guitar, and vocal duties are all interchangeable, and who confidently use this freedom to make top notch 60s inspired psych and garage rock music.

Have a listen to Everything Hz from it below.

Mad Mackerel Recommends... Avers

Avers, the Richmond indie rock quintet that includes members of The Head and the Heart, Hypercolor, The Mason Brothers, and Farm Vegas, is heading out on a summer tour in support of their recently released debut album Empty Light.

Having given the record a couple of spins, we think these are shows you might want to add to your must-see list. A fabulous mix of jangly guitars, fuzzed up pop, and psychedelic wig outs, and expertly blending influences from the epic sweep of Spiritualized, the guitar-fueled freakouts of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and the cultish crunch of Brian Jonestown Massacre into something singular. Empty Light is a record that invites you to turn on and tune in… but it won’t let you drop out.

Try a couple of tracks from the record below and check out the live dates.
