Introducing >>> Kjartan Bue

Kjartan Bue is a songwriter and folk musician living in Copenhagen, Denmark. His debut release, Man Riding Backwards, is out on the 25th of November 2012 as a Pay-What-You-Want deal (digital only).

He has been compared to everything from an early Neil Young to a rough Townes Van Zandt, and it was after a couple of years of drifting he decided to move home to his father’s farm, Moon Mountain, to find peace and time to record some of his most recent songs.

In an eastern facing room at Moon Mountain with the view of three grazing Icelandic horses, the mini album was created. For now, you can download the rather wonderful Old Woman with its ghostly and surreally brilliant lyrics.

“I’m not really dancing not dancing these days” She says and looks at me with her wrinkly eyes, “I’m not really going out at night, I’ll rather stay home and watch my old tuna fish swim around and fly.

Finally, rumour has it one of the horses at Moon Mountain was a great help during the recordings of Man Riding Backwards. Her name is Elda, she has a calm and curious disposition. Apparently Kjartan has started to look up to her a bit. Make of that what you will.
