Dearest Jools: most beloved wife of Barry-Sean, our regular MM contributor, work colleague and best friend to MM since the tender age of eight; devoted mum to Jamie and Becky; godmother to Joe Sprat; daughter, sister, auntie, cousin and friend to so, so many. Beautifully and fiercely Scottish, tiny china doll, lion-hearted, lover of all things soap opera and wide open spaces that made your heart sing, carer for the elderly and infirm, vegetarian, animal-loving and champion of the under-dog, your dog, Cyrille, is lost without you.

We raise a glass of your favourite Pinot and continue to struggle with the reality that you’ve gone, so suddenly, and promise to wipe the tears from our dear friend’s eyes and hold your children’s hands for as long as we are needed.
