The fabulous You Be My Heart compilation, which we featured last November and which was released in December, is an extended love affair with the nonprofit 826 National, which is dedicated to offering “a variety of inventive programs that provide under-resourced students, ages 6-18, with opportunities to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills.”

San Francisco songwriter Devon Reed, who volunteers with 826, wrote all the songs which were presented to the bands, who each selected one that called to them and in turn gave it their own unique twist.  The result is a compilation featuring a who’s who in the indie rock scene with artists such as Bowerbirds, The Cloud Room, Maps & Atlases, and Mark Kozelek all participating to support the nonprofit’s aim.

The latest track to be shared is from Horse Feathers and is simply brilliant.
