Having grown up in the Scottish Highlands and performed in various folk bands, the beautiful Summer Isles and the folk tradition are deeply rooted in Mairearad Green’s composition.

Fitting then that her new album, called Summer Isles, is a lovely collection of acoustic, folk and cinematic vignettes that each tell a story of the islands’ history.

Summer Isles is out on February 26th 2016 via Buie Records. Listen to Tanera Talisman, a beautifully simplistic piano-led effort which creates a warm cinematic feeling perfect for these winter months.
