Apparently Kurt Vile is a real name and not a simply a made up pop star moniker, which meant from an early age the chap only had two career choices – musician or pantomime villain.

Thankfully he went for music and last year’s spacey, psychedelia tinged Childish Prodigy was a fave of MM’s. Now he is back with a new EP titled Square Shells which is out on Matador on 25th May.  Advance taster comes in the form of this seven minute stoned epic with echoes of Spaceman 3. It bodes well for the rest of the EP!
