Well, the family shoal is spread far and wide this Friday 13th, with me and the two youngest visiting friends in Switzerland, and MM plus the eldest in the more tropical climes of Morocco looking for wildlife, mainly of the scaly kind.
I find August quite a strange month, and possibly one of my least favourites, aside from the welcome family time. (I know there’s January to consider, but I quite like cold, sunny winter’s days). Family, friends and acquaintances off travelling at different times, a strong sense of disassociation from the usual course of life, and the natural progression of time seems to stutter then accelerate. Before you know it, summer is over and lovely autumn is here again. I love the fluidity of summer and the absence of routines, but there are people that I miss. And I feel a little out of sync writing Friday on Tuesday – a lot can happen in three days…
Could have a camel in the garden by next Friday.
Wherever you are this weekend, hope it’s sunny.
