Beautiful September is here – a time of change and of new beginnings. A little bit of a shakedown in the old familiar recipes and a slight alteration to the seasoning: that’s all it takes to have a new perspective.

The sprats have returned to school and MM and I rejoin the hamster wheel of life, resolving as we ever do to make more time to do things that are important. A little bit of “stand and stare time” [into the middle distance usually] is what helps me. Mind you, last week I did that and saw a giant badger running down the High Street in Ventnor. A truth stranger than fiction. But not a very big rat as some eejit on the other side of the road thought.

Anyway what sums up today’s mood? A little bit of Sigur Ros: I don’t understand a word, but the ethereal soundscapes of their music is right on the money for me. Autumn is almost upon us and I love it.
