I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again … music and the power of association (good and bad) is such a powerful one. This week, I had one of those perfect moments.
Despite the fact that BBC 6 Music is not the station it once was (and if you’ve listened to it for a while, you’ll know what I’m getting at), this week they pulled one out of the bag for me. In the office, this was a pen slam down on the desk, “is it really?” moment. And it was. This week’s TFI so perfectly sent me back to a time when I certainly was young, foolish and happy; a definitive point in my youth. Our big, lovely college crowd so much defined by our musical tastes and how we looked, with all the subtle nuances a group of 20 plus friends can have.
Ride: Oxford’s shoegazing band, they belonged to us. Magic moments.
Cheers lads.
