Psychedelic space-rock stalwarts Bardo Pond have put out many LPs, most of them named after hallucinogens that make you throw up all night and see things – which was kind of them. Explicitly drug-inspired — their titles were filled with obscure references to psychedelics — they favored lengthy, deliberate sound explorations filled with all the hallmarks of modern-day space rock: droning guitars, thick distortion, feedback, reverb, and washes of white noise.

At least the titles let you know what you were in for.

Their latest album, this time self-titled, is due for release in January on Fire Records. It includes the twenty minute plus epic Undone, but our taster for you is the rather shorter but no less tasty Don’t Know About You.
