We were delighted to hear from Sharon Van Etten that she is to play one UK date in London next month before heading off as the personally invited support for the National’s European tour.
For those that don’t know, she sings with the voice of a wounded angel and tells slow, melancholy tales of yearning, loss, bitterness and mourning that send shivers down the spine and once heard, become utterly mesmerising.
The gig will be at the Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen on Sunday February 13th and it is a very welcome, albeit rare, chance to see one of the best up and coming artists in the USA. Take a listen to a couple of tracks below and you’ll see we’re not exaggerating.
Tickets can be got here or here, and cost just £7 + booking fee.
