Introducing >>> Bent Shapes

Bent Shapes (formerly Girlfriends) are a noisy pop group formed in 2009 in Boston, MA. The trio spent their first year and a half releasing cassette EPs and 7” singles full of fuzzy garage nuggets on various local labels. Following a six-week tour with Weed Hounds and Colleen Green that earned them much critical praise the band released a final 7” under their former name on NY’s Black Bell Records.

Since then the group has collected its early output on CD, honed its sound, recorded a series of demos (some of which were released on a limited 7” flexi disc last May), and continued to bring its potent blend of frenetic jangle pop and scrappy post-punk to shows in basements and clubs across New England and beyond, playing alongside bands like Sic Alps, Dum Dum Girls, Crystal Stilts, Male Bonding, Vivian Girls, Grass Widow, and Scratch Acid.

Their latest flexi-disc, Panel of Experts w/ Bites and Scratches saw a release just before Christmas and they are aiming for a first full-length for release in 2013.

Have a listen.
