Two Birds is the new EP from songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Richard Walters, originally from our neck of the woods in Oxford, and now settled in London having packed up his life in both Brighton and Paris over the last few years.
The EP opens with The Letter, which details the relationship between a father and his lost son – a haunting call and response between the two. Musically it finds us in truly golden Walters-territory, with beautifully sorrowful strings performed by Vulcan Strings (best known for their recent work with Bill Fay) and Walters’ plaintive acoustic strum gently backing his wearily defiant vocal.

this is a cracking EP, been a big fan of Richard for best part of a decade now.. if you like Richard you should check out another Oxford singer songwriter, Adam Barnes, who’s done a lot of writing with Richard over the last few years for his upcoming album…check out the teaser track “Howling” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lYNjXFEWk8
