Back in 2008 we were big fans of one-man-band Son of Dave’s album 03, and his whole 1940s private detective look with sharp suit and trilby. Since then we’ve also enjoyed 2010s Shake A Bone, but all has been quiet since then.
But now Son of Dave is back with his brand new single Hot Summer Nights. Three minutes of typically electrifying and idiosyncratic disco blues featuring Martina Topley-Bird on vocals, Joey Waronker on drums and Son of Dave playing everything else.
It will be released on the 23rd of September, the new single precedes his planned pledge campaign funded new LP Blues At The Grand.
