Jazz Mama Is Cryin consists of four tracks of brilliantly bleak, desolate, and warped blues and acid-rock. It is taut, tense, hypnotic and all consuming. It is like the evil offspring of Giant Sand and the Birthday Party.

Take a listen to the frazzled desert-punk and malicious country twang of The Rats Waltz, and then the unremittingly dismissive intonations of Nina Came Knockin’.
