
San Diego four-piece Champ play punchy garage rock that owes more to punk and grunge than it does psych or power pop – Wavves or FIDLAR are good touchpoints.
However, there is a distinct desire to experiment a little more than is common, pushing boundaries a little further than usual, and machete their way determinedly into the shadowier side of sunny California. The results are moody, noisy and catchy and we like it a lot.
