As we’re away for a few days we have scheduled a few posts to highlight some excellent stuff that has come our way, but which we haven’t had the time to do justice too in words!
The music of north Georgia native, but current Brooklyn resident, Caitlin Marie Bell is based on Appalachian folk tradition and the stories and songs that she grew up hearing throughout her southern upbringing.
Blood and the Water is her debut album, created with only a double bass, a few percussion instruments and her guitar to set the backdrop, it is a sparse and atmospheric affair. It was released back last summer, but even though we’re mighty late to discover it, it is simply too good not to share.
Stream a couple of tracks below and order the album here.
