Like yesterday’s post about Elliott Brood, The Futurebirds are another long-term staple of MM. Their brand of southern-fried psych-jams and gothic tinged Americana has resulted in a whole series of excellent releases, and they remain one of the bands we would most like to see live.

From Athens in Georgia, the band have teamed up with Jittery Joe’s Coffee to create the new Baba Java blend of coffee and they are also releasing a new four track EP to commemorate the occasion. The closing song is this rollicking cover of REM’s (Don’t Go Back To) Rockville.
