Cult Bluesman Son of Dave is releasing a new single, has a couple of new videos, and is touring the U.K.
The Filthy 45’s tour is all about the covers. Already known for his fiery versions of songs by Daft Punk, Dizzy Rascal, WAR, and many others, he’s decided to turn his hand to more of the classics
Alongside the tour comes the first of a series of Limited Edition 45rpm records (available Nov. 20). Tequila and Black Betty are both given new life and virility. Who knew that Tequila has words? Who knew that Son of Dave could sing in Spanish? Black Betty was around long before Ram Jam had a classic rock hit with it in the 70s. Son of Dave puts some of the Leadbelly back into it and gives it a hellfire all his own.
