Austin’s Surly Gates offer up a most palatable mix of garage inspired psych-rock that sounds like it has been lying dormant waiting to be discovered since 1967.
With some sweet harmonising, just the right amount of kaleidoscopic haze, and a nice ear for some out-there heavy rockin’, the five piece’s new album Lay Low is well worth checking out.
