The mighty Black Angels return with a new album Indigo Meadow released in the UK on April 1st. Their fourth long-player, it follows 2010’s excellent Phosphene Dream. Indigo Meadow promises more, bigger riffs, ominous organ grooves, and their trademark psych-drone. We can’t wait… They have what they describe as a “provocative” new track available for streaming – this is Don’t Play With Guns. Singer, Alex Maas, … Continue reading Black Angels New Album Taster
Watch new videos featuring F.U.R.S and a taster for their excellent debut single Striptease, and the Parson Red Heads video for Another Chance is a color-saturated, send-up of the static, poker-faced videos of early Black Sabbath. See Batman and Superman get drunk and make out in Sunshine’s video for Showering With Wine and finish with the scorching wildcat blues of two-piece Deap Vally’s new single Lies. … Continue reading Videos of the Day: F.U.R.S || Parson Red Heads || Sunshine || Deap Vally
Indie three-piece Kiven hail from the smog-swept city of Los Angeles. Their recently released 1840 EP reflects both their musical and personal growth. The three tracks build on each other organically with pocket drums, grooving bass lines, hard hitting guitars, soaring vocals and lush harmonies. Kiven’s debut full-length album will be out in summer, until then satisfy yourself with Hope & Smoke from the EP. Download … Continue reading Introducing >>> Kiven
Back in October we lauded the boisterous and spiky indie rock of Honeymilk’s debut single It Might Be, and now the Swedish four piece have followed it up with their new single (released yesterday), This Time Around (The Gods Won’t Save Me). They’ve turned up the angst-meter and slowed down the pace (just a little), but the results are still impressively anthemic and heartfelt. Grab it … Continue reading New Single From Honeymilk

In an area steeped in musical tradition, Lead Mule, a four-piece outfit from these outskirts of Yarmouth, champions the legacy. They release their self-titled debut EP today – have a listen/download the pop-rock guitar riffs and anthemic sing-along chorus … Continue reading MM Shorts 299: Lead Mule

Little Wings (aka Kyle Field) most recently reappeared on the MM radar with an exceptional cover of I May Smoke Too Much for the recent Kris Kristofferson tribute album The Risin’ Cost Of Livin’ High and Lovin’ Hard (that we posted about here). So it was nothing less than serendipitous to discover that on February 5th Little Wings will release a new album, LAST. Recorded over … Continue reading New Album From Little Wings
We only came across John Murry relatively recently when following some obscure internet links took us to 2006’s World Without End, the historical album of violent and often brutal murder songs he co-wrote and recorded with Bob Frank. It is about as dark and forbidding as anything you’re ever likely to hear, and naturally it became an immediate favourite. The benefits of our late discovery meant we … Continue reading MM’s 5:1 Interview No 5: John Murry
