We are looking forward to the new solo album, Shut Down The Streets, from the New Pornographer’s frontman A.C. Newman, which is due out on Fire Records on the 22nd October. The second track to get an airing from the record is the wonderfully titled, and wonderfully catchy, Encyclopedia Of Classic Takedowns – perhaps the closest in style and tempo to his previous work and also featuring … Continue reading Another Track from A.C. Mrs Mackerel has decided to take a short sabbatical and invite some friends, relatives and countrywomen to takeover her Friday night post, a Friday routine as regular in this household as a G&T with lime, or pizza Margherita for the sprats. Manchester’s Fantasy Rainbow are building on their ever increasing acclaim with a trip to play CMJ in New York. The indie troupe is releasing a new single Condominium, out on 29th October 29 via Heist or Hit. Now we have a second track, which, if anything is even better, the catchy twang and mountain-stream-clear vocals of Nolchi sounds just like it comes from the heyday of Loretta Lynn … Continue reading More From Eight Belles

New album, the simply named 2, will be released on 30th October and taster track, … Continue reading RTB2 Prep Release Of New Album 2
It seems to us that Tweak Bird have always been somewhat under appreciated compared with the plaudits heaped upon other bands like White Denim and Tame Impala. Not that those two bands aren’t fully deserving of the acclaim – they are. Its just that we think some of those plaudits and that buzz should be coming the way of this duo from Los Angeles by-the-way-of Southern … Continue reading New From Tweak Bird
