We’ve decided to do things a bit differently this year – too many times in the past we’ve posted our favourite songs of the year and then discovered late releases we wished we’d added! And also 2019 was a shit year for the world – Brexit, Johnson, Trump, the world burning… at least there is music.

Taking their cues from the likes of Devo, Talking Heads and Wire, New York trio B Boys find inspiration in the chaos that surrounds them: the aggressive attitude and sonic lawlessness of the city they live, work, and breathe in every day. Their raw, yet meticulous style is characterized by rhythmic complexity, commanding riffs, and introspective lyrics that are as playful and self-aware as they are cutting.

Their sophomore album Dudu is out on the 26th July and the latest track to be shared from it is Instant Pace, another acerbic slice of subversive, frustrated punk rock.

Give it a spin.

The sprightly sarcasm and acerbic commentary that we liked so much on NY natives B Boys 2017 debut long player Dada continues on the band’s upcoming sophomore LP, Dudu.

Influenced by such notables as The Clash, Devo, Wire, and Talking Heads, the new record finds B Boys picking up where they left off, pondering quotidien grievances while examining the bigger picture. Lead single I Want featuring Pill’s Veronica Torres is a bright, feel-good critique of capitalism and greed.

Give it a spin. The album is out via Captured Tracks on 26th July.
