Much like Clockwork Era who create a bone-shaking noise all of their own, one that spits out bile through disillusioned post-punk sensibilities and jagged riff-laden buzz-saw guitars, crunching drums and incessant repetitive mantra-like vocals.  War, social commentary, lies and paranoia are all delivered with vitriol, resentment and anger. This is the title track from new EP Fear Inside, released yesterday. Marvellous!

Los Angeles quartet Henry Clay People will release their new album Twenty-Five for the Rest of Our Lives on June 26th via TBD Records. A thrilling and sweaty thirty minutes of teenage restlessness, quarter-life malaise, and adult resignation. Have a listen to the title track.

Indie-folk and pop princess Fiona Apple has a new album due in mid-June. It is the extremely lengthily titled The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw, And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do and this track will be the first single from it, called Every Single Night.

With a strong contender for artwork of the year so far, Black Seas are a mysterious band from South London with an impressively operatic and extravagant pop sound – take a listen to the aptly titled Trembling.

And lastly, Fractures mine the same rich seam of indie rock as Oasis did, but thankfully without the ego and bluster – the result is the rather good debut single Ride.
