Falmouth four-piece Holiday Ghosts are back with their second LP West Bay Playroom, the follow-up to their very good self-titled debut album from 2017, which we featured a few times on MM.

The band have a nicely authentic, primitive rock ’n’ roll sound that’s taps into the Velvet Underground and The Modern Lovers alongside some of the more contemporary garage rock acts, but on the new record have also taken on influences from country, blues, and spaghetti western soundtracks.

Listen to Booksmart, the excellent first taster from the record, which you can order via Bandcamp here.

Playing a stripped back and primitive style of rock n roll, with influences from acts such as Modern Lovers, The Clean, Violent Femmes and The Velvet Underground, Falmouth based Holiday Ghosts are releasing their debut self-titled LP on 22nd September via PNKSLM Recordings.

Quiet Carriage is the second single from it, and you can stream it below.

Falmouth based group Holiday Ghosts will release their debut LP on 22nd September. Originally started as the solo project of The Black Tambourines‘ Sam Stacpoole the project has since evolved into a group with Katja Rackin and Charlie Murphy joining as songwriters.

In late 2016 the band released the Paranoia single as part of Art Is Hard Records’ Pin Pal Club series and so, alongside the debut LP announcement, it seemed an apposite time to stream the track for those who have yet to have been seduced by their stripped back, primitive rock ‘n’ roll.
