Combining the pop sensibilities of The Black Keys with the dark mystique of Nick Cave, The Growl are a howl of dirty barroom blues from Down Under. They are also the ‘other’ band of Cameron Avery who with Pond, already released an outstanding album earlier in the summer.

For us though, this might be even better! Their self-produced debut EP Cleaver Lever is five tracks packed full of the ingredients we like best in sleazy rock’n’roll: raw, filthy, visceral, gritty, and dangerous. This is music soaked in the authentic primal blues of the swamps with a twang of rockabilly, a haze of psychedelia and, at its heart, the pulsating, bloody roar of rock’n’roll.

Make no mistake, The Growl are heavy, relentless and a must have addition for any fans of Tame Impala, Tweak Bird or Black Mountain.
