Jenee Halstead’s new single from her excellent Raised By Wolves album of dark pop and Americana is Rodeo of Sadness.

With tenor ukulele providing  a poppy, reggae core to the song, keys and distorted banjo fill in the rest of this unique take on getting through life’s bumpy rides.

It is another fine example of her spooky, sparse approach that comes across as sounding like a slightly malevolent hybrid of Dolly Parton and PJ Harvey.
