Back in October we posted about Jemez Mountain Hawkz, a band made up of members of The Shins and Scared Of Chaka. It was to mark the release of their excellent debut EP of indie flavoured Americana titled Hey-Mez.

With methodical, twangy guitars and velvety harmonizing, new single from the EP Long Ride Home is a really gorgeous joint that revamps the traditional sitting-alone-at-the-bar-blues vibe. It stirs up those complex feelings you have when you have too much time to think, and end up taking that lonely, perilous trip down memory lane.

With the holidays coming up, many people will be experiencing that nauseous combo of nostalgia, regret, and emotional eating very soon… so you might as well have a soundtrack to go along with it. This is that soundtrack.
