No Kill are a three-piece, noise-pop band from Brooklyn who have drawn comparisons from The Vaselines to Dinosaur Jr.
Their debut EP release, the five track No Kill is a keeper – a treasure of jangly guitars and sugar-sweet melodies expertly woven with a woozy, fuzzed up garage rock sensibility and some good natured lo-fi distortion.
It kicks off with the utterly infectious and disarming opener Sledding that had us hooked within 30 seconds, even before the call-and-response vocals and warm, hazy chorus – think the Ravonettes joyfully jamming with The Shop Assistants and backed by a tripped out 60s Motown girl group.
And from there on in the EP just gets better and better.
We just know this is a record that will have regular MM contributor Barry-Sean swooning…
Grab a free taste below, but better still, buy the EP from their Bandcamp page here – you won’t spend a better $5 this weekend -guaranteed. Visit their website here.
