Danish six-piece Tales of Murder and Dust sound like a band that should be steeped in parched, cowboy town Americana and stories of jealousy, crime and retribution. While there is certainly an element of that in their earlier work with some Morricone inspired twang, even a bit of surf rock, underpinning their neo-psych tendencies, the band have evolved over time into something more hazy and kaliedoscopic mixing drone, shoegaze and eastern influences into a swirling maelstrom of noise rock.
Very good it is too – new EP Skeleton Flowers is out now and contains four tracks that show just why they have had slots playing with the Black Angels, Wooden Shjips et al.
