We’ve long admired and enjoyed the raw, simmering, often rabid, one-man-band blues of Scott H. Biram – like a meaner, nastier, and considerably better Seasick Steve!

So it is great to hear he is back with a new album, Nothin’ But Blood, on the ever reliable Bloodshot Records in February next year. His distinct songwriting cocktail is much to the fore, encompassing a penchant for sludge metal, the raw sucker punch of punk rock, profound truths of sentimental acoustic blues and country, the cleansing power of gospel hymns and spiritual ballads, and folk tales from the early 20th century.

Nothin’ But Blood is storytelling about wrongdoing and redemption – music from the soul, for the soul, of the soul – and with this album, the spiritual buckshot lodges deeper than ever.

First track from it is the excellent When I Die, which will also be available in physical form as an exclusive 7” vinyl release (b/w John The Revelator) for Record Store Day on November 29th. You can pre-order the 7” here.
