D. D. and the Flakes release their festive single Here It Is, Christmas Again on 9th December through Philophobia Music.

D. D. and the Flakes is the collective name for drummer Dan Stringer (Retarded Fish, the Michael Ainsley band) and whichever of his friends are available to help him record at that given time.

Here it is, Christmas Again, unlike Mistletoe and Wine, Saviours Day, and most other polished festive hits, tells a story which everyone will be able to relate to in some part. A gritty yet uplifting tale of being skint, being drunk, being with your family, being sick!

Yes it has sleigh bells and a string section, but combined with guest vocalist Jim McManus’s gravelly tones, it happily sits somewhere between the Pogues and the Darkness.
