We were hugely pleased, and not a little surprised, to recently receive a vinyl copy through the mail of Danish troubadour Emil Friis’ forthcoming album, Sand In Your Eyes.

The title track has been round a while and featured in the top-spot of Chris T Popper’s Top Ten of 2012, but the rest of the ten-track album is new to us. However, the first few spins are revealing one of those rare records of indefinable grace and maturity – authentic, powerful, and melancholic without ever descending into cliche or mawkishness.

There were no details with the record, but you can download it from iTunes where it has apparently been available since May 27th.
