The marvellous Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs are now just The Voyeurs, which seems like an eminently sensible move in the band-name stakes.
Having released the much underrated Clarietta album last year, they return with a new album Rhubarb Rhubarb which will see the light of day in November.
Drawing on classic influences such as The Doors, the Jesus & Mary Chain and adjusting the balance more in favour of dark psychedelics than classic indie punk, the first single is the oddly titled England Sings Rhubarb Rhubarb.
It simmers with repressed melancholy and angst, and is as good as anything they’ve done to date.
