Michael Dean Damron, former frontman of I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House, will release his new solo album When The Darkness Come on the 24th May.
It is beautifully lonely, moving between quiet acoustic contemplation to a more progressive and punk feel, all driven by Damron’s distinctive growl. Our favourite (just) is the haunting Simmer in the Pot, an acoustic piece with wonderful lyrics that features a suitably creepy nerve-jangling electric bridge. Check it out below together with the choppy, military march of the uncompromising Diabetes Blues.
Highly recommended for all lovers of outlaw country, junkyard blues and outsider folk!
