Taking their name from a William Faulkner reference, the sound of Strangled Darlings is sometimes compared to David Byrne and Tom Waits performing as a folk duo.

New album Boom Stomp King is a record of groove driven, swamp tinged tunes about love, rage, and small things. Harmonies and instrumental melodies with solid body cello and mandolin accompany the songs.
