100 Songs In 100 Hours: 79 – Jack The Radio

Jack The Radio

Southern indie-rock band from Raleigh, NC. Jack the Radio crafts the type of music to blast from your porch on early summer nights to help inspire the sweltering season to come.

Recent long-player Badlands is a two-act, musical journey through a sci-fi western, which starts with the listener waking up in an unknown, strange world. The first six songs of the album travel through an alternate universe or what could be a trippy-dream through the badlands, which is musically represented by the band exploring darker and in some cases synth driven songs.

This leads in to the swamp-side represented by a reawakening or return home, out of the trippy-dream. Musically this side holds more of the rootsy-rock groove complete with slide and a few guest surprises.
