To date, the sole commercially available release by striking new singer-songwriter Catherine A.D. is the Carry Your Heart EP, which saw the NME style her as ’kooky and spooky and very good’.

The demonstration of that talent is perfectly exhibited on the forthcoming collection that comprises her EP Skeleton Songs. The songs are pared down to the bare bones, recorded in a bedroom atmosphere that leaves all the cracks and creaks audible to the listener, but capturing that essential moment of creation on tape.

In fact, Lauren Laverne made one of the EP’s stand-out songs, Missiveh, the Track of The Day on her BBC 6Music show, whilst the song also made it to Number 2 in the Hype Machine Charts.

To celebrate all the above, and the EP’s imminent release on Monday, she has also made freely available a lovely cover of The Hurts‘ track Better Than Love. We have both for you below, and much like our post about Lail Arad yesterday, this girl has much to look forward to if she can keep this quality of writing and songcraft up. Recommended.
