Young & Lost Club’s Latest Releases

The Young & Lost Club is one of our favourite labels and they have a couple of cracking releases coming up that are very much worth checking out.

First up is a band called Fixers who hail from local waters in Oxford and are set to release their debut single Iron Deer Dream featuring chiming guitars, soaring melodies, four party harmonies and the sort of production that gets described as ‘lush’, and sees the track soar. Influences are from far and wide, such as the psychedelia of Brian Wilson and Bruce Haack, as well as the spaced out 80s dance sounds of Tom Tom Club, Arthur Russell and Dead Can Dance.

Fixers have fast built a reputation through word of mouth and a handful of blistering live shows.  Having just been tipped as one of NME”s top 10 bands to watch this year, as well as getting a corking review in this month’s Uncut’s Singles Bar section, 2011 could be a big year.

The single is released on the 21st February so have a listen below.

We have posted before about Young Buffalo, so were delighted to learn that Young & Lost Club would be releasing their debut single here in the UK.

Catapilah is definitely one of the band’s most organic creations; an enjoyably unique and personal jam to brighten even the darkest day. It is out now digitally and on limited 7″ vinyl on 14th February.

Heading to UK shores in February 2011, live is where the band come into their own, with the interchanging of instruments and lead vocals creating an exciting unpredictability when they perform. The experience never feels like just another indie band. The band will be playing shows in London the week of release. Have a listen below and download Three Deep for a taste of the band’s fetching melodies and style.
