For anyone who didn’t pick this up from the ever reliable Stereogum, this is an absolute gem of a track – truly as good as the band’s name is bad.

Bobby (what?) are an indie band from Massachusetts and will release their self-titled debut on 21st June.

Taster track, Ginger (Water Birth) features Mountain Man’s Molly Sarle and is a gorgeous exercise in musicianship. The song is quiet, even understated, but trust us, much is happening all the same – rhythms abound, layered vocals loop and swirl and repeat and a sensation of blissed out haze settles on you like a gossamer blanket .

The result is like having a song that floats in the air around you like a multi-coloured bubble, fragile enough to burst at any moment but equally capable of soaring away from your touch on the gentlest of passing currents.
