Peg Simone is in the studio working on her new album to be out in the winter of 2012. She has been playing music for over twenty-five years and has been a part of five different bands, but is now focusing on her solo career. American guitarist and writer Lenny Kaye praised Peg Simone’s fifth album saying that she “…sing-speaks ghostly and shadowy narratives from the alluvial marshes of the human flood-plain.”
That was a description that sounded like it should be something we should like. And so it proved to be.

On this track, Piece Of Pie, Peg Simone reveals her avant-garde, bluegrass pedigree rendering this story, written by Holly Anderson, through lingering guitar riffs and echoed silver-tongued vocals. It is eerie, ghostly, and sounds like it comes drifting like a mist off the night time bayou.
We wholly approve – we think you will too. Give it a blast.
