Luke Roberts is a native of Nashville, who has spent years in Portland, Brooklyn, and travelling the country by greyhound, train hopping and RV. His debut album Big Bells and Dime Songs reflected those wandering travels with a wild-west homeless feel, but new album, The Iron Gates at Throop and Newport has a different feel – more philosophical and with added flesh on the bones.

While the arrangements are more complex, the frank, open honesty remains and he has the all-too-rare ability to take deeply personal emotions and make them resonate with the listener as a shared experience.
