This time last year we were excited by Middle Brother, the indie ‘supergroup’ of sorts that featured Deer Tick, Delta Spirit, and Dawes. This year it is Diamond Rugs, another indie supergroup of sorts and this time featuring representatives from Deer Tick, the Black Lips, Dead Confederate, Los Lobos and Six Finger Satellite. The common denominator being Deer Tick’s John McCauley.

We loved their festive release, Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant and the boozy follow up Gimme A Beer. Their self-titled album is out on the 24th April, so ’til then you can immerse yourself in a new track, Country Mile, penned by DC’s Hardy Morris about a wheelchair bound friend. If these three are representative of the album as a whole then we are in for a treat.
