GravelRoad are perhaps best known as T Model Ford’s band but they prove themselves more than capable of going it alone and kicking out a mean set of psychedelic garage blues on new album Psychedelta.

Locking into sinewy, swamp inspired grooves and offering up a rough and raw blues groan, the influences range from CCR’s chooglin’ to Howlin’ Wolf’s sly lasciviousness and even ZZ Top’s southern boogie. But that’s mainly irrelevant because irrespective of influences, the results are singularly their own moving effortlessly between beer-fuelled roadhouse stomps and more considered and reflective piano and slide guitar.
